There are a huge number of programs out there that allow
you to collect points for just about any activity you might conduct on the
web. Some simply accumulate points that are then converted to cash. Many
accumulate points which are then available to be "spent" on
goods or services accessible from their site or with partnered merchants.
Others partner with Frequent Flyer Miles programs and the like. Which you
choose and why is entirely up to you but using these programs ought to
allow you to at least get something for anything you might do on the net -
and that must be better then doing it for free.

RafflePoints
|
|
Members of RafflePoints
have the opportunity to win prizes on a constant basis by simply referring
friends, family, and business associates to RafflePoints.
As well as the chance of prizes, members also receive coupons, special
offers, and periodic informational emails based on their choice of
interests. RafflePoints
has various ways to win. The first way is
simply to refer your friends, family, and business associates. If the
referral becomes a member, BAM! you just earned 500 RafflePoints™.
Every 100 RafflePoints™ enters you in a monthly drawing to win
a prize of your choice, which you may select from the member profile page.
The more referrals that turn into members the more points you will
accumulate, which simply means you have more chances to win. There is also
the monthly Grand Prize drawing, which will be the member with the most
points for that month. Every month a new count will begin and allows a
chance for a new monthly Grand Prize winner. The member profile page will
let you know how many points you have accumulated in real-time along with
several of the top performers, so you know exactly how many you need to
win. However if you are not a winner in the monthly contests your points
do not go to waste. You may spend your points to purchase discount
merchandise. You can view the products and/or services in the RafflePoints™
Shopping Center.

EMailThatCounts
is a program that gives you points for receiving targeted mail. You earn 10
ETC Points for every e-mail you read. You earn 5 ETC Points for every e-mail
your referrals read. You earn 2 ETC Point for every e-mail their referrals
read. You Refer an Advertiser and earn 1 Point for every 2 E-mails they send.
The unusual twist with this program is the way you use your points. Once you
have accumulated 750 points or more you have access to spend them at the EMailThatCounts
auction. However the auction aprt is still
being worked on and will not be available until March 2001. having said that
since accumulating points takes no effort it is worth doing just in case the
auction turns out to be the success that EMailThatCounts believes it will be.

ZosBox
|
ZosBox
is actually ZosMail
renamed. Though their core business is still the same: the difference is
that points rather then cash are accumulated. ZosBox aims to give its
registered members new features and tools for their lifestyle and at the
same time, they seek their members' support for their sponsors so that
these services and features can be provided to them free and in fact,
they will be paid for using these services! iMoney is money accumulated
when registered members use a tool or feature on their website or when
they view their sponsors' messages in their ZosBox
Inbox. This iMoney
can be used to purchase items from their sponsors or merchants listed in
their Merchant Directory who are offering special deals for ZosBox members! iMoney can be cashed out
by registered members once their iMoney
balance hits 3,000! [This Program Discontinued
as of 12/11/2000]

The
Easy $ Presents "Javascript & HTML Basics" [Next Tip] |
| Throughout these pages you will find some tips on
how to implement some of the features you see on these pages. If you
are a Web Page Wizard, and we are sure many of you are, then you may
well be far more advanced than we are, so forgive us if our examples
are simple. Just remember that everyone starts somewhere and needs a
few pointers to get off the starting blocks. Here we show you how to
create the messages you see in the status bar. Simply copy the code
to your Editor, customize the messages and then copy the code to
your page. Note that the script goes in the <head> part of
your page, the only section between the <html> tags is the
"onload" statement. |
